2023 8th International Conference on Robotics and Automation Engineering(ICRAE 2023) has been held successfully in Hotel Royal, Singapore on November 17-19 2023 in hybrid virtual style. ICRAE 2023 conference is is co-sponsored by Singapore Institute of Electronics and Sensors, Systems Society of Singapore, IEEE and IEEE Robotics & Automation Society. There were around 80 participants from over 10 countries, including Singapore, USA, China, Italy, the Philippines, Malaysia, Germany, Thailand, Canada, etc. to attend the ICRAE 2023 conference.

ICRAE 2023 conference invited lots of prestigious experts in the areas of robotics and automation engineering to attend the conference, including: Prof. Shuzhi Sam GE, IEEE Fellow, The National University of Singapore, Singapore; Prof. Lihua Xie, IEEE Fellow, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; Prof. Teresa Zielińska, Warsaw University of Technology, Poland; Prof. Xingjian Jing, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China; Prof. Everett X. Wang, Beijing Institute of Nanoenergy and Nanosystems, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China; Prof. Xing Zheng, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, etc.

Besides the keynote speeches, there were 11 technical sessions for authors' live and online presentations in the areas of followings:

Onsite S2: Robot Movement Control and Path Planning;
Onsite S3: Structural Control and Functional Simulation of Intelligent Robots;
Onsite S4: Modern Control Theory and Control Engineering;

Onsite S6: Autonomous System Control and Fault Diagnosis
Online S1: Intelligent Robot Model and Design;
Online S2: Image Analysis and Computer Vision;
Online S3: Advanced Control Theory and Engineering Applications;
Online S4: Data Driven Intelligent Systems and Communication Technology;
Online S5: Robot Motion Control and Trajectory Tracking;
After evaluations from session chairs, 11 best presenters were selected among all presenters. In order to encourage student authors, ICRAE 2023 added the Best Student Paper Award this year. Referring to the reviewing comments from TPC member and some suggestions from conference committees, we finally selected 1 Best Student Paper Award. Congratulations to these winners.
